Do You Know What I Have Done to You?
Story of Jesus
1st coming as a lamb. 2nd coming as a lion – k or k and l of l
His life/ministry was a combo of these two
Lamb – Servant/Sacrifice
Lion – Representing the kingdom. King;s dominion /authority
We find our identity in HIM as Christians
How do they apply to us?
“…. those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will REIGN IN LIFE through the One, Jesus Christ.)”
Romans 5:17 NKJV
Reign in Life
Reign – Lion
2 components – gift of righteousness, abundance of grace
Righteousness – Prov 28:1 – literally bold as a lion
Gift – Not an award, Don’t earn, win or compete for – humility to receive
Grace/ operational power – 1 Pt 5:5 – God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. only receive grace/power thru humility. Not earning it. Power hungry,
Lion characteristic depends on humility/ lamb
Do you want to see more of the power of God? Lion Prominent, Visible
Acknowledge the Lamb. Dominant.
another look at humility
True Humility produces true boldness
To the degree that you humble, you come up into boldness – trampoline
Look at this combination is Jesus to get more insight
Jesus was referred to as a Lamb
once in the Old Testament (Isa. 53:7),
twice in the Gospels (John 1:29, 36),
Once in Acts (Acts 8:32)
once in the Epistles (1 Peter 1:19),
twenty-six times in the Book of Revelation. Rev 17:14
One of those times – “
Revelation 17:14 Together they will go to war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will defeat them because he is Lord of all lords and King of all kings. And his called and chosen and faithful ones will be with him. (NLT)
8xs connects the Lamb to the One on the Throne
Gen 49:9-10 Lion symbol for the Tribe of Judah
Is 11:1-10 Millenium reign
Rev 11:15-19 reigning over the nations
Ezekiel cherubim – 4 faces – ox, eagle, man, lion
Revelation 5:5 Lion of the Tribe of Judah one time
Evil lions in scripture represent the devil
Lion King – 2 lions
Scar – he called himself . That was the way he identified himself
“life’s not fair”
Motivation is a feeling of injustice, being a victim and wants revenge, retribution,
2 kinds of reigning.
Luke 4 – temptation for power, absolute power corrupts absolutely
He turned it down. Motivation would have been for power.
“When Jesus saw that they were ready to force him to be their king, he slipped away into the hills by himself.” (John 6:15 NL
A rogue ruler. Why? Looks good. People wanted it. One way to interpret prophecy
After He chose the humble road, spent time with His Father
Increased manifestation of Kingdom dominion thru him over nature
Walked on water. NO Roman Emperor could do that.
His goal was not to defeat Rome.
Rome was less.
It was to defeat the devil, sin, death, grave,
“Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.”
Hebrews 2:14-15 NLT
Main things that happened at and around the last supper
Each writer puts them in different order
Jesus said one of them would betray him
Began to ask who would do such a thing.
Argument of who would be the greatest
Luke 22:24-25“Then they began to argue among themselves about who would be the greatest among them. Jesus told them, “In this world the kings and great men lord it over their people, yet they are called ‘friends of the people.’
Luke 22:26 But among you it will be different. Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant.
Luke 22:27 Who is more important, the one who sits at the table or the one who serves? The one who sits at the table, of course. But not here! For I am among you as one who serves. (NLT)
Still thinking that Jesus was going to challenge and triumph over the Roman government/Empire by His POWER. They believed hecould. Miraculous
“Before the Passover celebration, Jesus knew that his hour had come to leave this world and return to his Father. He had loved his disciples during his ministry on earth, and now he loved them to the very end. It was time for supper, and the devil had already prompted Judas, son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus. Jesus knew that the Father had given him authority over everything and that he had come from God and would return to God. SO he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him.
Wasn’t confused about where His authority came from. From submission to the will of God.
Relationship with the Father. Personal.
Wasn’t trying to prove He was something.
John 13:1 Before the Passover celebration, Jesus knew that his hour had come to leave this world and return to his Father. He had loved his disciples during his ministry on earth, and now he loved them to the very end.

John 13:4 So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist,
John 13:5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him.
John 13:12 After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, “DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I WAS DOING?
John 13:13 You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am.
John 13:14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet.
John 13:15 I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you.
John 13:16 I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message.
John 13:17 Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them.
After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, “Do you understand what I was doing? You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. Do you understand what i have just done to you?
“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.””
John 13:34-35 NLT
Nothing is impossible –
What overcomes the world is our faith. Faith works by love.
Gifts of the Spirit that dispense God’s power. Follow after love and desire spiritual gifts. More excellent way.

Eph. 3:19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Eph. 3:20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
