Finding Your Story

Finding Your Story

Guest Speaker – Ps Tom Bachtle

We are all born for greatness – and every one of us has a great story.

Words are containers that are set on a journey to complete the task they are sent on. Words help people find their story.

Prov 10:11 “The mouth of the righteous is a well of life, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked” (NKJV)

Prov 10:11 “The mouth of a good person is a deep, life-giving well, but the mouth of the wicked is a dark cave of abuse” (MSG)

Prov 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit” (NKJV)

How powerful it is when we give words of encouragement to people. We attach the supernatural power of God to our natural words and supernatural things begin to happen.

Ps 37:23 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way” (NKJV)

God wants to use you to do something significant – to help change someone’s life forever. He wants to move through us.

Something good is getting ready to happen to your life

Encouragement lifts the heavy heart. We can bring life to people.

1 Cor 14:1-5 “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification” (NKJV)

Prophecy brings exhortation and comfort. Let’s choose to dress ourselves in words of encouragement.

People’s stories change by the power of God. Your story will change by the power of God. The Spirit of God is upon you. God wants to touch hearts. He wants the spirit of boldness to rise up in us.

How do we do this? We look to Him; we seek Him; we call upon Him – Father, more of You and less of me – Father, all of You and none of me – I surrender all.

Jesus prayed a prayer of consecration in the Garden of Gethsemane: ‘Father, I want this cup to pass from Me; but, not My will, Yours’. So, we pray the same prayer of consecration to Him – every day. We have been commissioned by God to bring hope and encouragement to people’s lives.

Eph 4:29 “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers” (NKJV)

Gal 6:1-2 “Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness” (NKJV)

People need to be encouraged. Words are given to influence people towards increased Godliness. We have all been gifted by God.

Rom 12:6-8 “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness” (NKJV)

Each of us is an offering of the Father to be a bridge of hope and healing for people – to help bring transformation for them.

Blessed are: the feet of those who bring good news; the hands, anointed from Heaven, ready to reach out to others; a tongue, ready to speak life into people’s situations; a heart that says, Father lead me to hurting humanity.

The world is hurting but we have the heart of the Father

Stories connect people to Him

Your story is valuable – to Him, for Him.

Be faithful in those things that are in your hand and your faithfulness will increase you so you can fulfil what is in your heart.

You are empowered to make a difference!
