PRAYER GUIDE

Rhema Family Church Prayer Guide 2016

This prayer guide has been prepared by Ps Tony to help us pray together and stay in unity, saying the same things and agreeing in prayer. Psalms declares that where the brethren live in unity, the Lord commands a blessing. We agree with God and each other according to His Word and believe for fruitfulness as we partner with Him in His mission for us.

Unity

Pray, Think and Say the Same Things

NOTE: In the scriptures below about unity, we can see things to do, think and say. The emphasis here is that we are not just to pray for unity, but we are to put action to our prayers through how we act, think and speak about the people we work / walk alongside.

Genesis 11:6 And the LORD said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.

What to say about unity:

  • We are a family and a team.
  • The importance of unity is HUGE.
  • When we are in unity NO ONE can stop us – not the devil, people or circumstances.
  • If we believe and plan for salvations, miracles and healings, NO ONE can stop them.
  • If we work for unity of processes and systems that work, NO ONE can stop us from developing them.

Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

  • “Together in unity” is from a Hebrew word that means ‘a unit.’ It pleases God when we are ‘a unit.’
  • We will work and do life together as ‘a unit.’

Psalm 133:2-3   It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the LORD commanded the blessing—Life forevermore. (NKJV)

  • Unity activates the grace of God (or His anointing), which enables us to function in all that we’re called to do.
  • Unity ensures that the blessing of the Lord is on our work.

John 17:23 I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. (NIV)

  • The world knows God, Jesus and us by our love toward one another.

1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

  • Unity of thoughts and words must not be easy to attain as Paul said, “I plead with you.”
  • They were obviously being pulled in different directions, yet Paul’s words lead us to believe that it is possible to speak the same thing, and be perfectly joined together with no divisions.

Colossians 3:13-14 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. (NIV)

Colossians 3:13 Put up with each other… (CEV)

  • The CEV translation tells us to “put up” with each other.
  • None of us are perfect, and we could offend each other, but we are instructed to forgive anyone who offends us, just as the Lord forgave us.
  • Forgiveness and love “binds us together in perfect unity.”

Philippians 1:27 Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel,

  • Paul comments that conduct worthy of the Gospel is reflected by our oneness of spirit and mind.

1 Peter 3:8 Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. (ESVS)

What you can think, say, and do about unity:

  • I let go of my personal agendas.
  • I see myself as part of ONE team striving together for the faith of the gospel.
  • I love and respect my fellow leaders and team members, and I declare God’s best blessings on their lives.
  • I choose to forgive and not hold any hard feelings against anyone I’m walking and working with.

NOTE: As we choose to say the same thing, NOTHING we feel LED to do can be withheld from us, and we will be in a position to do and continue to do the impossible.

Persistence

Persistence in Prayer

Luke 18:1-8 One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up. “There was a judge in a certain city,” he said, “who neither feared God nor cared about people. A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy.’ The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’” Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?”

Remember, God hears fervent prayers…

Luke 18:35-43 As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind beggar was sitting beside the road. When he heard the noise of a crowd going past, he asked what was happening. They told him that Jesus the Nazarene was going by. So he began shouting, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

“Be quiet!” the people in front yelled at him. But he only shouted louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

When Jesus heard him, he stopped and ordered that the man be brought to him. As the man came near, Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?

“Lord,” he said, “I want to see!” And Jesus said, “All right, receive your sight! Your faith has healed you. Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus, praising God. And all who saw it praised God, too.

Wisdom

Proverbs 8:34 Joyful are those who listen to me, watching for me daily at my gates, waiting for me outside my home! (NLT)

James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

1 Corinthians 1:30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.

1 Corinthians 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory.

What to pray and say about wisdom:

  • Lord we ask and thank You for wisdom to run our race and stand in our grace.
  • Jesus is my wisdom, and I have wisdom beyond my years.
  • We’re all anointed to speak the wisdom of God in a mystery – which is the gospel.
Souls

Acts 2:47 praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

Psalm 107:1-3 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy,
and gathered out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.

Genesis 3:15 for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.

Genesis 28:3 “May God Almighty bless you, And make you fruitful and multiply you, That you may be an assembly of peoples;

Matthew 9:37-38 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the labourers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest.”

Mark 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

John 4:28 The woman then left her water pot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, John 4:29Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”

What to pray and say about souls:

  • The Lord is daily adding those that are saved to RFC (Rhema Family Church).
  • We call people into RFC from the north, east, south, and west.
  • He is bringing the un-churched, the disengaged, the lost, and the hurting to RFC.
  • He is making us more and more fruitful, and multiplying us to be a powerful assembly of people from every nation.
  • We have wisdom to do every style of evangelism.
Favour

Luke 2:52 Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favour with God and all the people.

Genesis 39:21 But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

Psalm 5:12 For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; with favour You will surround him as with a shield. (NKJV)

Psalm 44:3 For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them; but it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, Because You favoured them. (NKJV)

What to pray and say about favour:

  • I have favour with God and man.
  • My Father gives me favour in the sight of all men.
  • I am surrounded with favour and it is a shield to me.
  • Our Father favours us individually and corporately, and with His favour we will possess our promised land.
  • I have uncommon favour.
Finances

2 Corinthians 8:7 But as you abound in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us—see that you abound in this [giving and receiving is the grace he is referring to] grace also.

Psalm 25:13 He himself shall dwell in prosperity, And his descendants shall inherit the earth.

Psalm 35:27 Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favour my righteous cause; And let them say continually, “Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”

Philippians 4:15-19 Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only. For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account. Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

What to pray and say about money:

  • Because we have given once and once again, we have favour with God and man concerning our finances.
  • Every one of our needs is abundantly met – individually and corporately, and we have plenty left over to be generous givers.
  • We call in an abundance of provision for ALL our team and congregation members. Angels, go out and bring in this finance and resource.
  • We declare favour on ALL our team and congregation members – we expect people to receive money, things, discounts, bonuses and blessings in every place their feet walk.
  • We call in more than enough finances to meet RFC’s weekly budget and the ongoing development costs to complete our facility.
  • We call in special offerings which will come in from the North, East, South and West.
  • We call 19 Tolmer Place bought, paid for, and debt free.
